Dr. Venable has 15 years of clinical experience in psychiatric evaluation and treatment across multiple settings such as inpatient, community mental health, private practice, correctional facilities, and Veterans Administration. She provides culturally sensitive, interdisciplinary mental health care to diverse patient populations. Diagnoses include schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders; mood and anxiety disorders; substance use disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Board-certified in forensic psychiatry, Dr. Venable is available for expert witness and consulting services to attorneys in both civil and criminal matters. Her active membership in the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law ensures that she is current on best practices.

File review and report preparation pertaining to a range of psychiatric conditions, including mood, anxiety, personality, substance use, cognitive, somatoform, and trauma-related disorders. Criminal cases (2015-2018)
Evaluation of defendants regarding fitness to stand trial, sanity at the time of the offense, and ability to understand the Miranda warnings. Review of extensive legal and medical records, report preparation, and testimony as needed. Psychiatric diagnosis and treatment of incarcerated individuals.
